Job description

Description

  • Partner with the Store Manager to oversee daily store operations across all departments
  • Provide consistent floor leadership to drive sales, service standards, and execution
  • Lead, coach, and develop department managers and frontline associates
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management
  • Reinforce merchandising standards, inventory accuracy, loss prevention, and safety compliance
  • Assist with labor planning, scheduling, and productivity management
  • Monitor store KPIs and support action planning to improve sales, margin, and operational results
  • Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and the local community
  • Step into the Store Manager role as needed to ensure continuity of leadership

Requirements

  • Required: Solid background in lumber and home improvement retail
  • Previous leadership experience as an Assistant Store Manager, Department Manager, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of multi-department retail operations and execution
  • Proven people leader with the ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable
  • Results-driven mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on retail environment
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to lead through change

Corporate Culture

  • Base salary of $85,000–$90,000 with a performance-based bonus of up to 30%
