Applications are invited for the position of : Teacher at Harry Collinge High School Position : Teacher, Full-Time - Jr / Sr High School French Immersion HumanitiesLocation : Harry Collinge High School - Hinton, ABhttps : / / harrycollinge.gypsd.ca / Start Date : Duties to commence the start of the 2024-2025 school year until June 27, 2025.Hours of Work : 1.0 FTE Monday-Friday The competition will remain open until : until a suitable candidate is found or July 12, 2024, 12 : 00 pm A dual-track (English and French Immersion) high school in Hinton, Alberta. Located under an hour east of Jasper, Alberta. Harry Collinge High School resides in the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division, a senior high school providing excellent education to approximately 500 students, grades 8-12.Role and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be a collaborative person with proficiency in the use of educational technology and have an understanding of assessment for learning. The responsibilities include : Providing instruction to promote high quality student-centered learning. Designing and preparing lessons based on curriculum and following a variety of methodology in teaching and instructing students, including lectures, demonstrations and discussions. Facilitating inclusive educational practices to maximize educational opportunities for all students. Reviewing and evaluating each student's performance, knowledge and skills and meeting all reporting and assessment deadlines. Adhering to provincial legislation, board policy and division administrative procedures. Developing constructive relationships with parents. Modelling commitment to professional development. A detailed description of the Role of the Teacher is available in Administrative Procedure 420 on the GYPSD Website.Requirements The successful candidate will : Possess an Alberta Teaching Certificate or be eligible for one. Have experience in following the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) and infusing literacy across the curriculum. Hold a Bachelor’s degree of Education. The successful candidate may be required to teach either one Junior or one Senior Option in English. The Division Grande Yellowhead School Division (GYPSD) stretches from Jasper National Park, east to Evansburg, south of Cadomin, and northwest to Grande Cache. The jurisdiction includes 17 schools, 5 Learning Connection Centres, approximately 5000 students and 600 staff. The Division is governed by seven elected Trustees.The Board’s four main priorities are : Student Learning Teaching and Leadership Excellence Community Engagement System Health and Wellness GYPSD schools offer a broad range of JK-12 programs.
