Job description

As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur's Gate 3 & Divinity : Original Sin 2 is looking for a Senior VFX Artist to join the team and help us in crafting the high caliber games our fans have come to expect.

The VFX team's mission is to craft impressive spells that feel magical, believable, and understandable : spells that tell a story and suspend disbelief. They also create memorable environment effects that make the world feel alive and fantastical, effects that support the mood and emotion of places and events, enhancing the overall player experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create Visual Effects for gameplay abilities (spells), creatures, custom scripted events and for environmental decoration using Particle Effects, models and custom shaders.
  • Develop the look and feel of VFX classes.
  • Collaborate with other departments on the development of game features.
  • Experience creating custom shaders using node-based tools or scripting HLSL)
  • Occasional contributions to cinematic VFX depending on project demands..

Requirements

  • Strong portfolio showing complex real-time VFX with a preference for "Magical VFX", demonstrating a solid understanding of color, composition and timing. Portfolio should include a variety of styles and types of VFX.
  • At least one shipped game on PC / Console, preferably more than just one.
  • Advanced knowledge of any DCC package Maya, Blender, Houdini).
  • Must be willing to work onsite in the Studio
  • A professional level of written and spoken English
  • Pluses

  • Houdini / Substance / Maya experience..
  • Scripting experience
  • Skills in other (traditional) arts, drawing
