We are currently recruiting for motivated and knowledgeable Commercial / Heavy Equipment Road Appraisers in Ontario-GTA, Alberta and the Atlantic Region.

In this role, you will be responsible for the assessment of repairs and total loss valuations for heavy on road and off road vehicles of various kinds. This will include motorhomes, RV and commercial use trailers, heavy industrial equipment, heavy trucks, medium duty and tow trucks, motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATV. The assessment will be conducted in an efficient manner to control the indemnity spend and expenses without compromising the delivery of superior customer service and accuracy.

What You'll Do

Utilize computerized estimating systems to prepare complete, competitive repair estimates and communicate repair estimate information to customers, repair facilities and claim representatives as required.

Review appraisals from approved vendors

Negotiate with repair facilities on repair plan processes

Re-inspect repaired units for quality of service and cost control measure.

Evaluate actual cash value and sometimes replacement cost value of units declared a total loss and take proactive steps to control storage and rental vehicle costs.

Adherence to dispatch needs and fulfillment of claim investigation and resolution in the field.

Reports fraudulent claims to senior supervisor.

Hours of operation can include evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.

Work closely with claims handlers to provide valuable coaching and information on coverage issues

Identify and communicate opportunities to improve the customer experience, the claims handling processes and financial outcomes for the business

What you'll Bring

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Minimum of 2 - 5 years of vehicle damage appraisal, minimum 2 years of heavy equipment appraisal and collision repair industry experience

Working knowledge of Audatex and Mitchell Estimating System

Prior appraisal and hands on shop experience a must.

Strong computer skills, good communication skills, a strong team player, strong problem solving skills
