Location: Prince Edward Island

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our property management team. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across our diverse portfolio of residential, health care facilities, and commercial properties throughout Prince Edward Island. This position requires someone who takes pride in their work, communicates effectively with tenants and property owners, and works independently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Why Join Us?

There are lots of great employers out there, and we believe that there is a right place for everyone.

We understand that your time at work is an important part of your life's journey, so we believe in providing ongoing training and opportunities for you to advance with us and within your profession.

As part of our benefits package, we provide annual fitness membership subsidy and access to mental health support and other counselling, should you ever need it.

We want you to be supported during your entire time with us and beyond, so we provide a competitive benefits package including health, dental and life insurance, drug coverage, and a pension plan that matches up to 4% of your contributions.

Finally, we believe in partnering and supporting other locally owned businesses to build stronger communities, so we've made arrangements with a few of them to provide you with discounts on things like home heating oil, restaurants and goods and services at local retailer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations across multiple residential and commercial properties
  • Respond to emergency electrical issues and service calls in a timely manner
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems, including wiring, lighting, outlets, circuit breakers, and panels
  • Install and upgrade electrical fixtures, appliances, and systems as needed
  • Work with property managers and tenants to schedule and complete electrical work with minimal disruption
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project
  • Ensure all work meets Canadian Electrical Code and PEI regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with contractors and suppliers as needed for larger projects
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency after-hours service

Qualifications:

  • Valid PEI Journeyperson Electrician License (Class A or B)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and PEI electrical regulations
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (attics, crawl spaces, etc.)

Assets:

  • Experience in property management or multi-unit residential settings
  • HVAC or plumbing knowledge
  • First Aid/CPR certification
