Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Millwright (or equivalent experience) with strong mechanical and electrical expertise to support operations in Waterville, Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate is capable of performing motor unwiring/rewiring, DC motor brush checks, and general mechanical maintenance. This is a long-term, on-site contract opportunity requiring reliability, safety focus, and strong English communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment
Unwire and rewire electric motors, including DC motor brush inspections
Diagnose and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime
Work safely in accordance with site and industry standards
Use personal hand tools to complete tasks (drill and/or impact tools provided if needed)
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
Complete assigned work accurately and on schedule
Required Qualifications
Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent mechanical experience
Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with hands-on motor experience
Experience with DC motors and basic electrical wiring tasks
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday
6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Compensation & Contract Details
Hourly Rate: $34.00 – $37.50 (based on experience)
Vacation Pay: 4% added to pay
