The GIS / Landfolio Support role provides hands-on support to the Woodlands and cross‑business teams in maintaining JD Irving’s enterprise land management system, Landfolio. The student will work closely with GIS resources, Divisional Champions, and regional business partners to ensure data accuracy, strengthen our system of record, and support ongoing visualization and data quality initiatives.
This role directly supports ongoing enterprise initiatives, including tax assessment processes, property data completeness, and multi‑business land record accuracy, making it a meaningful opportunity to contribute to JDI’s long-term land management transformation.
This position is ideal for a student with strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and an interest in GIS, data management, or land administration systems.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program (Forestry, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field an asset)
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn technical systems
- Comfortable working with maps, spatial data, or data-entry tasks
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams
- Experience with GIS, Landfolio, spatial tools, or data systems is an asset but not required.

Work with GIS and Landfolio administrators to ensure ongoing functionality of Shape Sync and related spatial componentsSupport troubleshooting of spatial issues and validate that GIS‑to‑Landfolio connections are functioning as expectedDraw or import spatial shapes into Landfolio to enhance the visualization of land assetsValidate that geometry displays correctly and calculate key metrics such as hectares for land parcelsAssist in maintaining consistency between Landfolio’s business data and GIS spatial dataHelp maintain Landfolio as the accurate system of record by updating fields, validating completeness, and ensuring critical attributes are populatedReview data quality and address gaps in coordination with Divisional Champions and regional business unitsReference existing Power BI reports to understand relationships and confirm accuracyContinue development of the Enterprise Land Ownership Application initiated by the GIS teamBuild in required attributes and populate missing data fields to support enterprise-wide visibilityHelp refine and finalize the application by completing outstanding gaps and validating alignment with data governance standards#J-18808-Ljbffr
