Job descriptionRead blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, and motors, according to layout plans using hand and power tools. Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery. Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions. Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts. Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery. Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery. Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment. Apply mechanical repair principles and procedures to make sure that machinery runs properly. recommend equipment changes and modifications and evaluate new equipment. Assists in the development, implementation and coordination of preventive maintenance programs, work methods, and procedures for efficient maintenance and repair activities in the plants and networks. Building systems maintenance is part of this role. Maintain the work area and physical environment in a neat, clean, and orderly condition. Monitor subcontractor work to its completion. Provides written reports as needed. Analyzes equipment breakdowns and propose possible corrective solutions. Follow all safety and company policies and procedures. Other duties as required.
