Assistant Team Leader

The Opportunity

DeVry Greenhouses is seeking an Assistant team leader to join our production team and support day-to-day operations in our greenhouse facilities. Based at our Chilliwack and Langley locations, this is a hands-on role that assists with coordinating daily production activities, supporting team members on the floor, and help ensure all greenhouse tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team leader to oversee all tasks for one of our growing facilities.

• Lead a small team to execute urgent jobs and tasks.

• Support the location team leader in planning the week.

• Willing to help at other locations if the help is needed.

• Plan, lead, organize & control (PLOC)

• Work with the location grower to ensure tasks are completed on time and in an efficient manner.

Qualifications

• A positive can-do attitude with a drive to succeed and go the extra mile.

• Ability to work extended hours as required by the season.

• Willing to work Saturdays and evenings if required by workload.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure.

• Take initiative to learn new techniques to continue improving processes.

• Ability to work as part of a team.

• Willing to help where needed.

• Ability to speak Spanish goes a long way.

• Past experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right individual.

Working Conditions

• Physically active role (standing, lifting, repetitive motions)

• Greenhouse environment with variable humidity and temperature.

• Flexibility for extended hours during peak production seasons.
