About the Opportunity
Join our Finance team in a full-time Junior Financial Analyst role! We're seeking someone to assist with an array of internal financial advisory services within the operational and corporate business units. In this role, you'll collaborate with various teams across NSH Finance and Operations to develop and support analytical tools tailored to meet the needs of a diverse range of stakeholders, with specific focus on Continuing Care Finance Team. Your work will positively impact Finance operations by enhancing existing functions and providing valuable new insights into NSH operations. This position will appeal to an individual looking to work in a dynamic, challenging, and team-based environment and is an excellent opportunity to learn about the Nova Scotia Health care system.
As a member of our team, you'll be responsible for :
- Delivery high quality customer service to Directors, Managers, Physician Leaders, and other stakeholders across NSH
- Support Leaders in understanding financial results and issues
- Monthly financial forecasting and variance analysis
- Identify opportunities to strengthen, automate, and standardize business processes
- Assisting with other projects as needed.
- Conduct analysis to deepen understanding of cost drivers and financial variances
- Perform various month end accounting duties and cost center maintenance
- Collaborate with various teams to develop and implement process improvements
- Advise on budgetary and spending decisions to help achieve financial goals
- Contribute to business case development and financial proposals
- Present Financial results and analysis
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following :
Graduate of a recognized post-secondary business and / or accounting program (Undergraduate degree preferred)Enrolment or completion of CPA designation considered an assetAn understanding of Finance and performance indicatorsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skillsThe ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure with high accuracy and attention to detailThe ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with team members and stakeholdersThe ability to take ownership of projects and to learn and work independentlyStrong Microsoft excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, sumifs, organizing data sets, etc)Technology skills is considered an asset (SAP, SQL, Tableau, VBA, macros)Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skillsAbility to identify trends and developments from Financial data and other evidenceHealthcare experience or knowledge considered an assetPlease ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.
Hours
Long assignment, full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly
Beginning as soon as possible with an expected end date of July 10, (Approximately 24 months)
Dates are subject to changeCompensation and Incentives
26.92 - 33.65 hourly
