The Rural Leadership Trainer is responsible for delivering advanced aquatic leadership training and lifesaving education to rural and underserved communities within the Halifax Regional Municipality. This role combines program instruction with proactive safety management and emergency preparedness in isolated environments. This role teaches Lifesaving Society leadership courses (Junior Lifeguard Club, Bronze Medallion, Basic Workplace First Aid, Bronze Cross, Intermediate Workplace First Aid) and delivers a high standard of program delivery and participant success. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong initiative, independent decision-making, and exceptional communication skills. By fostering water safety awareness and developing future aquatic leaders, this position plays a critical role in strengthening community safety and aquatic programming in rural areas.

WORK STATUS : Monday-Friday (hours depending on the course)
Seasonal – June 1, 2026 to August 31, 2026.
HOURS OF WORK : Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule.
SALARY : Non Union; $20.75 (During LSI hours, travel time, lunch) (plus 4% vacation pay). $27.75 (FAI only) (plus 4% vacation pay)
