As the Wilderness Coordinator you will lead and influence high-quality wilderness and tripping experiences that are safe inclusive and developmentally meaningful making an immediate and lasting impact by strengthening program excellence staff leadership and risk management practicesensuring Camp Stephens remains a place where individuals and communities continue to Shine On.

HOW youll create Moments that Matter :

You will lead and oversee wilderness tripping and in-camp trail programs ensuring exceptional quality safety and risk management aligned with industry best practices. You will coach and support the Wilderness Team while overseeing program operations including equipment inventory environmental monitoring and reporting to ensure strong safeguarding practices continuous improvement and long-term program sustainability.

Youll bring :

  • Proven leadership experience in wilderness programming outdoor education or youth-focused environments with the ability to lead teams in dynamic and remote settings.
  • Strong communication organizational and decision-making skills including the ability to manage risk and respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • A demonstrated commitment to inclusion safety and child- and youth-centred practices aligned with the Ys mission and values.
  • Required Certifications : Standard First id with CPR-C National Lifeguard Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) Wilderness First Responder (WFR) White Water Rescue (WWR) Manitoba 5F Drivers License
