POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Facilitates the third-party use of non-surplus, underutilized properties, engaging with multiple internal stakeholders to verify surplus status and ensure proposed use does not negatively impact railroad operations
- Negotiates real estate agreements to ensure highest returns while minimizing liability to the company, including agreements governing access and temporary use
- Assists real property aspects of CPKC projects by providing subject matter expertise on acquisitions, development, and disposition of real property interests
- Research historical agreements, property ownership, and title status for parcels utilizing a variety of historical and modern resources
- Administrative tasks related to real estate agreements, including maintaining document management processes and managing inflow of inquiries for the region
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3 years of experience in Railroad Real Estate or Corporate Real EstatePost-secondary education in business, finance, or property management considered an asset.Experience in complex Railroad transactions considered a strong assetCommunicates with both internal and external stakeholders, able to convey and negotiate certain terms of legal agreements up to a limited impactMust be able to effectively read, interpret and comprehend legal documents with an emphasis on land.WHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER
