The Opportunity

The City of St. John’s, Department of Community Services, requires one instructor for Adult Fiddle programs.

Accountabilities

  • To plan, develop and introduce fiddle skills at various levels to adults in a group setting.
  • Consult, assist and make recommendations for the program in conjunction with the Community Programs and Services-Adult & Seniors Coordinator
  • Perform in a direct leadership capacity in delivery of weekly programs
  • Request and maintain the necessary supplies required for the program
  • Compile and monitor attendance

Qualifications

  • Recognized training / experience in Fiddle instruction
  • Experience in teaching Fiddle programs in a group setting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working with adult population
  • Formal education with diploma / certificate / degree would be an asset
  • Additional Quailifcations :

  • Successful applicant will be required to obtain a current Criminal Record Screening Certificate & Vulnerable Sector Check (dated within the last six months of the start date.)
  • Successful candidate would be expected to have the specific lesson plan content developed prior to start of employment.
  • Hours of Work

    Program Schedule : Wednesday's from 1 : 30-2 : 30pm weekly.

    Period of Employment :

    September 2023 - June 2024
