Job Description

The Interior Design Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the designing, drawing, sourcing and specifying of interior upgrades for Chartwell’s portfolio of properties.

Key Accountabilities

• Assist senior designers with interior upgrades including the remodeling of existing Chartwell properties and coordinating furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Design various types of residential, commercial, hospitality and institutional spaces found within Chartwell’s properties that suit seniors' living.
• Work to a brief; including determining project requirements and scope.
• Carry out research, to proposed plans are technically feasible and permissible by Code.
• Conduct site and field measures and translate into workable as-built floor plans using computer-aided software (AutoCAD).
• Create floor plans, elevations, sections, and details using AutoCAD computer software.
• Prepare scaled detail drawings such as cabinetry, countertops, flooring, and fireplaces in plan, elevation, and section in AutoCAD.
• Select furniture, finishes, and equipment using Chartwell FF&E standards.
• Develop drawings and documentation for tender or quote, including finish tables and specifications.
• Participate in stakeholder consultations, interviews and meetings about design concepts and construction progress.
• Present finished designs, specifications, materials and finishes for approval.

Qualifications

Education : Working towards or recently completed a college diploma or university degree in interior design, architectural technology or equivalent.

Experience : 1-3 years of experience in a field related to Interior Design.
