Job description

We are a fun, silly, and loving family of five looking for a kind-hearted, energetic respite companion to join our home and help care for our children—primarily our sweet 7-year-old daughter with disabilities.

About Our Family

Our family includes :

  • Two 7-year-old twin girls
  • One twin has a rare condition that includes epilepsy, autism, and global developmental delays. She is incredibly affectionate, very silly, and happiest with cuddles, snacks, TV time, and a calm, caring presence.
  • Her twin sister is energetic and creative—she loves colouring, playing, and spending time outdoors.
  • A 11-year-old son who is a pretty typical kid (video games and junk food enthusiast 😉).

We’re a relaxed, welcoming household with lots of laughter, and we value kindness, patience, and a good sense of humor.

About the Role

This position focuses primarily on caring for our disabled twin, with responsibilities including :

  • Diaper changes
  • Assisting with feeding
  • Keeping her safe and comfortable
  • Offering reassurance, cuddles, and companionship

    • You may also be asked to :

  • Help get the kids off the school bus
  • Offer snacks
  • Engage in light play or supervision with the other children as needed

    • Your main focus, however, will always be providing attentive, compassionate care to our daughter.

    Who We’re Looking For

    You might be a great fit if you are :

  • Compassionate, patient, and confident
  • Energetic and comfortable being playful and silly
  • Comfortable with basic personal care (diaper changes) and open to learning
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with young children
  • Ready to be adored by a small herd of kids 💕

    • Experience with children or disabilities is an asset, but a great attitude and willingness to learn matter most.

    Additional Details

  • Smoke-free home
  • Cat-friendly household (please be comfortable with cats)
  • Must have access to a vehicle (we are located in Inverary, ON)

    • Schedule

  • Part-time position ( 15-35hr / week)
  • Weekdays typically 3 : 30 PM – 8 : 30 / 9 : 00 PM
  • Daytime / Evening hours on weekends
  • Additional hours available during school breaks, holidays, and summer
  • We are flexible and happy to work around the right person’s schedule
