MUST HAVES :

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering) and eligibility to join the Association of Professional Engineers of the Province of Manitoba.
• Current CWB Welding Inspector Level 1, 2, or 3 certifications — or willingness to obtain certification within a defined timeline.
• API 653, API 570, and API 510.
• Strong knowledge of QA / QC , government codes, standards, regulations, and maintenance practices for pressure vessels and tanks.
• An equivalent combination of formal training and pulp and paper mill experience may be considered.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in engineering, pulp and paper mill, or an industrial mechanical environment.
• Good planning and organizational skills; ability to interpret and deliver clear instructions.
• Strong computer skills or willingness to learn; working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and Maintenance Management Systems (MMS) such as GuideTi.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal), strong mathematical and administrative abilities, and comfort managing documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to perform and lead effectively under pressure, shifting priorities, and challenging conditions; able to command respect within maintenance and operating teams.
• Ability to understand and interpret AutoCAD , drafts / drawings, blueprints, and equipment diagrams, with the capability to produce clear sketch representations for assigned work.
• Strong customer service orientation and commitment to supporting internal clients.
