MUST HAVES :
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering) and eligibility to join the Association of Professional Engineers of the Province of Manitoba.
- Current CWB Welding Inspector Level 1, 2, or 3 certifications — or willingness to obtain certification within a defined timeline.
- API 653, API 570, and API 510.
- Strong knowledge of QA / QC , government codes, standards, regulations, and maintenance practices for pressure vessels and tanks.
- An equivalent combination of formal training and pulp and paper mill experience may be considered.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in engineering, pulp and paper mill, or an industrial mechanical environment.
- Good planning and organizational skills; ability to interpret and deliver clear instructions.
- Strong computer skills or willingness to learn; working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and Maintenance Management Systems (MMS) such as GuideTi.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal), strong mathematical and administrative abilities, and comfort managing documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to perform and lead effectively under pressure, shifting priorities, and challenging conditions; able to command respect within maintenance and operating teams.
- Ability to understand and interpret AutoCAD , drafts / drawings, blueprints, and equipment diagrams, with the capability to produce clear sketch representations for assigned work.
- Strong customer service orientation and commitment to supporting internal clients.
Responsibilities
Manage the QC Program for pressure vessels and pressure piping, include engineering drawings, material specifications, cost estimates and invoices for materials, inspections of pressure equipment to CSA and ASME codes, reporting and work instructions, where applicableManage and maintain the CKP Pressure Systems ManualEnsure the QC program(s) and applicable codes and standards are adhered toAssist in the management of Mill Asset Management Program supporting efficient plant operations and minimize downtimeAssist in building the strategic plan for CKP Asset Management ProgramOther programs for assets preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, health and safety related asset programs (such as asbestos coordination)Work Conditions
