Job Description

This role involves assembling and installing multiple conveyor lines and a mezzanine within a large industrial facility. You will work as part of a small, safety-focused team, using hand and power tools, operating lifts, and performing precise mechanical installation work in a construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install multiple conveyor lines and associated mechanical components in an industrial facility.
• Assist in the installation and construction of a mezzanine structure, ensuring accurate alignment and secure fastening.
• Work in small teams to complete tasks safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project timelines.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools to perform mechanical assembly, adjustment, and installation work with precision.
• Operate scissor lifts and work at heights as required to install conveyors and structural elements.
• Support material handling activities, including working on platforms and, where applicable, operating forklifts.
• Follow all site safety procedures and guidelines, including lockout/tagout and fall protection requirements, where applicable.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are stored and used safely.
• Read and interpret basic measurements, using measuring tapes, levels, and squares to ensure accurate installation.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify and resolve installation issues or mechanical challenges.
• Use personal tools from the required tool list to perform daily tasks and ensure they are in safe working condition.
• Adhere to project schedules that may include extended hours and overtime to meet installation milestones.

Essential Skills

• At least 3 years of experience in conveyor installation, construction labor, millwright work, welding, or similar mechanical roles.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble and install mechanical systems accurately.
• Demonstrated experience using hand and power tools in a construction or industrial environment.
• Experience working in heavy-duty construction or industrial settings.
• Experience working at heights and on elevated platforms.
• Ability to operate or work around forklifts and scissor lifts in a safe manner.
• Comfort working on an active construction site and following site-specific safety protocols.
• Proven ability to work safely in small teams, maintaining a strong focus on hazard awareness and safe work practices.
• Capability to read and use measuring tools such as tape measures, levels, and squares for precise installation.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and working extended shifts.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large industrial facility with an active construction environment. The standard schedule runs from approximately 06:30 to 16:30, Monday to Saturday, with the potential for additional hours or schedule changes as project needs evolve, including up to five 12-hour shifts and as much as 60 hours per week during peak periods. Work may take place on elevated platforms and mezzanines, and you will regularly use scissor lifts; some team members will also operate forklifts. The environment is heavy-duty and industrial, requiring consistent adherence to safety practices and procedures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times. Workers are required to bring their own tools that meet the minimum standard tool list, including a socket set (7/16" to 3/4"), wrench set (7/16" to 3/4"), screwdriver set, hammer, rubber mallet, 6" torpedo level, square, small pry bar, 10" and 12" adjustable wrenches, imperial measuring tape, Allen key set, and drift. The work involves extended periods on your feet, working with tools, and collaborating closely with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced construction setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
