Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to support advanced systems across multiple Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) disciplines, including Logistics Support Analysis, Configuration Management, Data Management, Obsolescence Management, and Technical Writing. As an ILS Specialist, you will ensure the reliability, maintainability, and supportability of complex systems by performing detailed analyses, developing core ILS and sustainment plans, and managing configuration data throughout the product lifecycle. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to address supportability, maintainability, and testability concerns while contributing to the continuous improvement of products and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) activities such as Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) to support system reliability and maintainability objectives.
  • Conduct Failure Trend Analysis and Root Cause Analysis, recommend corrective actions, and monitor the effectiveness of these actions over time to reduce recurring issues and improve system performance.
  • Assist in the development of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Plans, Maintenance Plans, Provisioning Plans, and Sustainment Plans that align with program requirements and support long-term system sustainment.
  • Collaborate with Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) specialists to perform Configuration Management and Data Management tasks in accordance with established processes and standards.
  • Review engineering data and engage with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assess the impact of design changes on baseline product configurations and supportability requirements.
  • Identify configuration items to be tracked against the established configuration baseline, ensuring that all program and contractual configuration control requirements are met.
  • Collect, record, process, and maintain configuration and logistics data, while controlling changes within the Configuration Status Accounting system to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance.
  • Interact with engineering, management, production teams, customers, and SMEs to address supportability, maintainability, and testability concerns and to provide clear, data-driven recommendations.
  • Prepare clear and concise technical reports, analyses, and documentation to communicate findings, recommendations, and ILS deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply strong technical problem-solving skills to analyze complex systems, identify risks and issues, and propose effective mitigation strategies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support team objectives, project milestones, and overall program success.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience performing Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), including FMECA, RCM, MTA, and LORA, in support of complex systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Configuration Management and Data Management processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex systems and conduct Failure Trend Analysis and Root Cause Analysis, including recommending and tracking corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of reliability, maintainability, and supportability principles and their application to engineering and sustainment activities.
  • Proficiency in technical report writing, with the ability to present complex analyses and findings clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Effective cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineering, management, production teams, customers, and subject matter experts.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data analysis, reporting, and presentation development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in reliability engineering or quality disciplines.
  • Experience in Obsolescence Management and Technical Writing for complex systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
  • Familiarity with Government of Canada security clearance processes and controlled goods requirements.
  • Ability to develop core ILS and sustainment plans that support long-term system availability and performance.
  • Capability to manage configuration data and maintain configuration status accounting in a structured environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.

Work Environment

This position follows a hybrid work arrangement with set onsite days in either Calgary or Ottawa, combining in-person collaboration with remote work flexibility.
