Caledon Volunteer Firefighter

Protect Caledon communities as a Volunteer Firefighter using emergency response, rescue, medical care, and hazardous materials skills. This on-call opportunity requires station proximity.

The Town of Caledon seeks volunteer firefighters for stations in Caledon East, Caledon, and Caledon Village. Candidates respond to fire, medical, rescue, and hazardous materials emergencies while operating equipment and vehicles. Regular training supports safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and required certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to suppression and emergency call-outs under operating procedures
• Enter contaminated structures using PPE and respiratory protection
• Provide emergency medical care at emergency scenes
• Operate vehicles, cutting tools, pumps, hoses, and ventilation equipment
• Attend training and participate in community events

Requirements:

• Live within 10 kilometres of an eligible fire station
• Pass the aptitude and required fitness tests
• Maintain physical strength and agility for arduous work
• Hold a valid G licence and daily vehicle access
• Remain dependable and available on an on-call basis

Serve Caledon through emergency response, rescue, medical care, equipment operation, and ongoing firefighter training.
