As a Healthcare Security Officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors at South Shore Regional Hospital. You are tasked with maintaining a safe environment, resolving conflicts utilizing de-escalation techniques, and responding to emergencies. Your strong communication and emotional intelligence will be essential as you assist the hospital community daily.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular patrols to identify safety concerns
• Manage tensions with verbal de-escalation strategies
• Respond effectively to emergencies and incidents
• Assist staff and visitors with directions and inquiries
• Maintain accurate records of incidents and hazards
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Eligible for a Nova Scotia Security License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Current Use of Force and Management of Aggressive Behavior certifications
