Part Time Pharmacy Assistant

This Pharmacy Assistant supports the Pharmacist with technical prescription filling and administrative duties. The position contributes to pharmacy operations and customer service while handling prescription data, dosage calculations, inventory control, and clerical organization. All prescription filling occurs under Pharmacist supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive prescriptions and assess required patient and prescriber information
• Enter prescription data, process refills, and generate reports
• Select, count, measure, label, and organize prescription products
• Maintain inventory, process orders, and remove expired medications
• Complete clerical, housekeeping, and assigned over-the-counter duties

Requirements:

• Ability to interpret written prescriptions and Latin abbreviations
• Ability to recognize drug names and calculate dosages
• Ability to perform seven point, visual, and DIN checks
• Ability to follow provincial legal and regulatory conditions
• Ability to work under Pharmacist supervision in pharmacy operations
