Locomotive Service Attendant CPKC

As a Diesel Service Attendant, you will move, fuel, clean, test, and perform basic locomotive repairs. The work supports operational reliability through inspections, equipment servicing, parts assessment, and safety-focused maintenance. This entry point provides foundational locomotive maintenance experience and technical development toward CPKC’s Locomotive Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship Program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Refuel and sand locomotives while stocking cab amenities
• Inspect locomotives, fuel tanks, and cab equipment
• Perform basic repairs supporting operational reliability
• Clean and service locomotive cabs and facilities
• Test electrical systems, safety devices, and cab brakes

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general equivalency
• Valid driver’s license and driving history verification
• Minimum one year working around heavy equipment
• Availability for all shifts and weather conditions
• Ability to read English safety instructions and pass examinations

Support CPKC locomotive reliability through fueling, inspection, cleaning, testing, repairs, and strict safety compliance every shift.
