Job description
Support students as an Educational Assistant at Prince Charles in Brantford, using behavior support and individualized learning strategies. This is a full-time, 10-month position.
The Grand Erie District School Board seeks an Educational Assistant working under teacher direction and principal supervision. Assignments may include regular or self-contained classrooms. The work includes student care, learning materials, behavior support, and implementing Individual Education Plans and Behavior & Safety Plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with lifting, toileting, feeding, and possible catheterization
- Prepare learning materials for classroom activities
- Support riders through aide duties
- Implement student education and safety plans collaboratively
- Track behavior as directed by the Behavior Counsellor
Requirements:
- Related community college diploma preferred
- Educational setting or special needs experience preferred
- Current Behavior Management Systems certification preferred
- First Aid certification preferred
- Ability to implement Applied Behavior Analysis strategies
