Job description
Support facility maintenance at Markham community centres through cleaning, repairs, and safe operations in a temporary part-time schedule of up to 24 hours weekly.
The City of Markham seeks a Facility Maintenance Attendant I for Milliken Community Center and Aaniin Community Center. You will assist with maintenance, cleaning, and repair work across community facilities, pools, change rooms, and assigned areas. Customer service and teamwork are important in this public-facing position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window, washroom, and detail cleaning
- Complete snow shovelling, salting, garbage pickup, setups, and breakdowns
- Operate power tools, cleaning equipment, and safety equipment
- Patrol facilities and address hazards, problems, and maintenance requests
- Respond to public requests and complete administrative duties
Requirements:
- Be at least 15 years old at training
- Experience in general maintenance
- Fitness to perform general maintenance safely
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Current Standard or Intermediate First Aid with CPR C and AED
