Job description
Maintain a safe, sanitary church facility as a part time Janitor with The Salvation Army, using cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
The Janitor maintains Mountain Citadel facilities through custodial duties, room setup, supply monitoring, and basic maintenance observation. This regular part time position averages 15 hours weekly, with schedules set by the supervisor. The work supports services, events, and general property upkeep while following health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vacuum carpets, sweep tiled areas, and wash floors
- Clean washrooms, windows, offices, furnishings, and fixtures
- Prepare rooms for services, events, and activities
- Monitor supplies, order items, and restock washrooms
- Check security, safety equipment, and repair concerns
Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school
- Up to one year of related custodial experience
- Knowledge of health and safety standards
- Ability to lift or move up to 49 pounds
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
