Job Duties:

• Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
• Load and unload goods
• Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
• May drive special purpose trucks such as tow trucks, dump trucks, hydrovac trucks or cement mixing trucks

Requirements:

• Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience is required.
• Be eligible to obtain a class 1 MELT license.

Salary:

$26.00 per hour, 40 – 60 hours per week

Important information:

The worker will be required to work on average 5 – 6 days per week, 8- or 10- hour shifts per day. Days off are provided upon request on a rotational basis. Since our business operations are continuous, work on weekends, overnights and statutory holidays is required.
