Reporting to the Project Manager, the Sr. Superintendent will manage all on‑site construction activities, including site layout, traffic control, logistics, temporary works, and safety compliance. This role will oversee daily operations, coordinate with unionized crews and stakeholders, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Site Organization: Plan and manage the overall site layout, ensuring efficient use of space and resources.
- Traffic Management: Develop and implement traffic control plans to ensure safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians around the construction site.
- Logistics Coordination: Oversee the scheduling and coordination of deliveries, ensuring timely arrival of materials and equipment.
- Storm Water Management: Implement and maintain storm water management systems to prevent flooding and erosion on the construction site.
- Temporary Works: Supervise the design, installation, and maintenance of temporary structures and facilities required for the project.
- Trailers Setup: Coordinate the setup and maintenance of site trailers, ensuring they are equipped with necessary utilities and resources.
- Site Maintenance: Ensure the construction site is kept clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Quality Control: Monitor construction activities to ensure they meet quality standards and project specifications.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of site personnel, including unionized workers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a Sr. Superintendent and/or General Superintendent role on major civil infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in site organization, traffic management, logistics, storm water management, and temporary works.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with unionized labor.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards.
- Experience with project management software and tools.
- Familiarity with permit processes and regulatory compliance.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Background checks required.
- Valid Driver’s license.
Reason for Vacancy: New
Pay Range: $130,000-$180,000
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
