About our Program:

The Faculty of Nursing at the University of Prince Edward Island offers the only undergraduate and graduate programs for the nursing profession in the province. In addition to providing evidence-informed education, we strongly believe in providing opportunities for all Faculty, staff, and students to participate in research and scholarship. Nursing education researchers study how students best learn nursing skills and investigate diverse topics such as health outcomes and improvements to the quality of healthcare services.

There is a need to reflect and embed within the curriculum and pedagogy new ways of thinking and being to reflect the changing health system and the importance of interprofessional learning and collaboration, diversity, and inclusivity. In addition, we honor and appropriately respond to the Calls to Action of Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including fostering reflection related to decolonization and Indigenization to support recognition.
