- Full-time
Hi everyone! I am looking for a reliable, compassionate person to hang out with Prince during the workweek once we move on November 1st. He suffers from severe separation anxiety, so I need someone to keep him calm and company at my home in New Glasgow while I am at the first half of my shift. My work schedule changes from week to week, but I typically work 5 days a week. I will always give you your schedule ahead of time! This could be a long-term, repeating arrangement and is the perfect setup for an online student, remote worker, or retired neighbor who has a flexible schedule and wants a quiet, cozy place to work or study with some built-in furry coworkers. 📅 The Schedule & Routine • Time needed: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 9 AM to 1:00 PM. (4 hours each morning, 5 days a week based on my changing shift schedule). • The Routine: You will hang out with him until I come home for my lunch break at noon. I will take over for an hour, and then we are training him to handle the final 4 hour stretch of my shift on his own. 🐕 What the Job Entails • Main Duty: Just being a presence in the room! Because of his anxiety, he just needs someone there so he feels safe. You are completely welcome to use my Wi-Fi, study, watch TV, or do your own remote work. He does love to play fetch and is fairly easy going. Not high energy but once he's comfortable with someone he does bring his squeaky ball over for play from time to time. • Mandatory: Letting the dog out for a quick bathroom break, making sure his water is topped off. You can give him treats if you feel like it but I will feed him before and after my shift so you don't have to worry about that. • Other Animals in the Home: I also have a free-roam rabbit (Bunny Pluto) and an older cat (Sofi Beans). They require zero care or feeding during your time here, but the cat absolutely loves to cuddle if you are sitting on the couch or at a desk! The rabbit is friendly but absolutely does not want to be held and may be weary of a stranger at first. • Optional: If you feel like taking the dog for a short walk, or for fetch in the park it is always appreciated, but absolutely not required if you prefer to stay at home. 💰 Pay & Location • Location: I live in Stellarton by the NSCC, (Please note I do not have a vehicle, so I'm looking for someone who can easily walk, bike, or transit to my place. Open to also doing drop offs if it is somewhere I can walk to.) • Compensation: I am on a tight budget but can offer a reliable flat rate of $150 to $175 per week ($30–$35 per day worked) for this consistent morning schedule.I wish I could offer more, but your service would be more appreciated than you know. He had a rough year in 2024 and with your help I think we can make this moving experience a good one and not a scary one for Prince. If you love animals, have a flexible schedule, and want to make some steady weekly cash, please send me a message! I'd love to chat and have you meet the crew.
