Entry-Level Kitchen Assistant – Choices Markets Commissary Location: Burnaby, BC Position: Full-time Choices Markets Commissary is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to support our food production team.

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone interested in learning and growing in a commercial kitchen.

No previous experience is required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities Assist with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.

Weigh and measure ingredients according to recipes and production instructions.

Support the kitchen team with assembling, packaging, and labelling products.

Follow food safety, hygiene, and allergen control procedures.

Label, date, and store ingredients correctly, following First In, First Out (FIFO) practices.

Wash utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment.

Keep workstations and storage areas clean and organized.

Assist with moving ingredients and supplies to designated areas.

Follow daily production priorities and report any product or equipment concerns to the supervisor.

Qualifications Willingness to learn and follow instructions.

Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Good attention to detail and a positive approach to teamwork.

Ability to work in a busy food production environment.

Able to stand for extended periods, bend, and safely move ingredients and supplies.

FOODSAFE Level 1 is an asset.

Schedule: To be confirmed; early morning and weekend availability may be required.
