Temporary Part-Time Floater – Activity and Youth Worker Penticton & District Society for Community Living (PDSCL) About PDSCL Penticton and District Society for Community Living (PDSCL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting people with diverse abilities throughout Penticton and surrounding communities.

We provide inclusive services to individuals with intellectual disabilities, seniors, low-income adults and families, and persons experiencing homelessness.

Our goal is to promote dignity, inclusion, and independence through person-centred support and community engagement.

Position Overview PDSCL is seeking an adaptable and energetic individual for a Temporary Part-Time Floater – Activity and Youth Worker position.

Reporting to the appropriate Program Coordinator, the successful candidate will provide coverage and support across our Day Services and Youth Programs.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with both youth and adults, values variety in their workday, and is committed to helping individuals achieve their personal goals while participating fully in their communities.

Position Details Status: Temporary Part-Time (Float Position) Guaranteed Hours: 24 hours per week Program Locations: Various PDSCL Day Services and Youth Program locations Schedule Day Services Monday and Friday 8:00 a.m.

to 2:00 p.m.

Youth Programs Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 2:00 p.m.

to 6:00 p.m.

Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Break shifts may be scheduled between 9:00 a.m.

and 5:00 p.m.

Weekly schedules may vary based on operational requirements and staffing needs.

Job Summary Provides support within Day Services and Youth Programs, facilitating recreational, educational, social, and community-based activities that promote inclusion, skill development, independence, and positive social engagement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Depending on program assignment, responsibilities may include duties associated with both School-Aged Child and Youth Worker and Activity Worker positions.

School-Aged Child and Youth Worker Duties Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities for children and youth.

Develop balanced daily schedules incorporating indoor/outdoor and group/individual activities.

Provide behavioural intervention and support to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Ensure a safe environment and attend to children's physical needs, including toileting, eating, and mobility assistance.

Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and professionals involved in the child's support plan.

Maintain accurate records, reports, and participation statistics.

Administer first aid and medication as required.

Activity Worker Duties Plan, organize, and facilitate community-based social, educational, and recreational activities.

Encourage and assist participants to engage meaningfully in activities.

Model appropriate behaviour and support skill development in life and social areas.

Observe, document, and report client progress or concerns.

Follow safety procedures and respond to emergencies per established guidelines.

Maintain records, reports, and communication with families, caregivers, and professionals.

Perform other related duties as required.

Education Completion of a diploma or equivalent certification in a related Human Services, Social Services, Recreation, or related field.

Training & Experience Minimum of one (1) year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL), or willingness to obtain.

Other Employment Requirements Successful candidates must be able to meet the following employment requirements: Valid CPR/First Aid Certification Valid Food Safe Certification Valid MANDT Certification (or ability to attend training) Valid Class 4 Unrestricted BC Driver's Licence (or ability to obtain with Class 5) Personal vehicle required for the position.

The vehicle must be registered for business use; the additional insurance cost will be covered by the Employer, and mileage reimbursement will be provided.
