As a Lead, Strategic Communications within the Strategy Execution & Enablement team, you act as a strategic partner in the successful delivery of Commercial Banking’s five-year strategic plan. You define and oversee communication and engagement strategies aligned with organizational priorities and the strategic pillars.

Working closely with the leader responsible for the execution and governance of the strategic plan, strategic pillar leaders, regional business leaders, and key partners, you help employees understand the organization’s direction, engage with its transformation agenda, and adopt new ways of working. Through your expertise, you contribute to employee engagement, organizational transformation, and a consistent and impactful employee experience.

Your role

  • Own and oversee the communication and engagement strategy supporting Commercial Banking’s five-year strategic plan, ensuring alignment with business priorities, transformation objectives, employee experience, and the Bank’s broader corporate strategy.

  • Act as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to senior leaders, strategic pillar leaders, and regional business leaders by providing counsel on communications, employee engagement, change adoption, and stakeholder considerations.

  • Develop and oversee integrated communication strategies for large-scale business transformation initiatives, connecting the different strategic pillars through a clear, consistent, and compelling narrative.

  • Establish communication standards, governance practices, editorial direction, and integrated planning mechanisms that improve the quality, consistency, coordination, and impact of communications across strategic initiatives.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and quality oversight to communications resources supporting the strategic plan, ensuring priorities, deliverables, and activities remain aligned with the broader communication strategy.

  • Anticipate communication and engagement risks, maintain an integrated communication calendar, measure effectiveness, and recommend improvements that strengthen employee understanding, engagement, and adoption while promoting the Commercial sector’s achievements.

You are part of the Strategy Execution & Enablement team, which supports the successful delivery of Commercial Banking’s strategic priorities and transformation agenda.

You work closely with the leader responsible for the execution and governance of the strategic plan, strategic pillar leaders, regional business leaders, change management specialists, program teams, and communications partners across the Bank.

You provide leadership and direction to the communications resources supporting the strategic plan, including direct oversight of assigned team members. In this highly collaborative role, you help ensure that transformation initiatives are communicated consistently and effectively while supporting a connected and meaningful employee experience.

Prerequisites

  • Strong business acumen, influence, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to advise senior leaders and collaborate across multiple functions and stakeholder groups.

  • Experience managing multiple priorities and communication workstreams in a large, complex, or matrixed organization.

  • Ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous situations while remaining flexible, agile, and collaborative.

  • Experience in banking, financial services, or wealth management is considered an asset.
