Job description
Our energy and utilities client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee the implementation of an Energy Tracking and Risk Management (ETRM) system within a Waterfall (Hybrid) delivery environment
Candidates can be located in Calgary or Edmonton - Hybrid work model if in-office and WFH.
Must Haves
- 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager delivering complex technology projects on time and within budget
- PMP or equivalent certification
- Experience in Waterfall and Agile (Hybrid) project delivery methodologies
- Proficiency with MS Project, Jira, or Smartsheet
- Familiarity with cloud-based Hitachi Energy ETRM or other energy tracking and risk management software platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with formal project governance models including project gating
- Familiarity with implementing data and analytics solutions
- Change management certification such as Prosci or ACMP
- Experience working in a regulated utilities industry and multi-vendor environment
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the ETRM implementation project across multiple work streams
- Maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies
- Coordinate IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders across project activities
- Manage project risks, issues, and changes with timely resolution and communication
- Monitor project progress and provide status updates to executive leadership
- Drive user acceptance testing, training, and transition to the new ETRM system
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and support continuous improvement activities
