Acting as the Company’s authorized on-site representative, the ILI Coordinator works closely with the ILI Project Manager to support the successful preparation, execution, and close-out of assigned pipeline inspection projects.

The ILI Coordinator works with contractors, vendors, operations personnel, and other project stakeholders to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Preparation

  • Review project scope, resources, schedules, timelines, and milestones with the Project Manager.
  • Gather and review pipeline and project-specific information, including questionnaires, pipe tallies, historical information, schematics, drawings, schedules, and vendor information.
  • Evaluate available information against the upcoming project scope and historical pipeline/project data.
  • Coordinate with regional personnel, Area Managers, Field Work Planners, Operations Planning, ILI tool vendors, tracking personnel, and resource vendors.
  • Coordinate field requirements, equipment requirements, logistics, access, resources, documentation, and pre-work planning.
  • Review outage procedures and identify potential project issues.
  • Travel to launch and receive sites to perform pre-run site inspections as required.
  • Prepare and distribute project field documentation, including pre-job forms, JSAs, and vendor/stakeholder notifications.

Project Execution

  • Travel to ILI field locations and coordinate site preparations, including matting, road access, vehicle placement, and other site requirements.
  • Conduct pre-job meetings and communicate project scope, schedule, operating procedures, safety requirements, and expectations.
  • Review JSAs, Safe Work Practices, Job Safety/Hazard Analyses, and Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs).
  • Verify contractor qualifications, orientations, crew readiness, and equipment availability.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or acts are identified.
  • Hold contractors accountable for executing work in accordance with applicable procedures and safety requirements.
  • Ensure regional personnel and pipeline readiness, including valve checks, documentation, and isolation plans.
  • Supervise ILI launch and receive operations, including tool loading, trap pressurization, valve swings, blow-down, tool retrieval, site clean-up, and return to normal operations.
  • Coordinate with tracking teams, tool vendors, Gas Control, and regional personnel during cleaning and ILI runs.
  • Monitor and facilitate ILI tool speed adjustments as required.
  • Maintain required project documentation, including daily logs, photographs, tool and line parameter logs, waste/debris information, tailgate meetings, and safety documentation.

Project Completion

  • Support ILI Project Managers with scheduling, vendor coordination, safety plans, performance surveys, project documentation, incident reporting/investigation, and cost tracking.
  • Track project costs such as time tickets, mats, consumables, and equipment.
  • Ensure vendor demobilization and site clean-up are completed and launch/receive areas are returned to pre-project condition.
  • Complete and submit required project documentation.
  • Participate in post-project investigations, tool failure reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Senior/Lead Responsibilities – Level III & IV

  • Mentor and train Level I and II ILI Coordinators.
  • Provide leadership and guidance during project preparation, setup, and execution.
  • Supervise and direct vendors and contractors on large or complex ILI projects.
  • Support consistent application of safety requirements, processes, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Lead or support program-level scheduling, resourcing, planning, training, safety, and other operational activities.
