Summary

The Assembler is part of the assembly team and may on occasion assist with the shipping/receiving and fabrication functions. An Assembler will set up or gather fabricated/purchased components and assemble them into finished product prior to parts being amended into stock for sale. Assemblers will review assembly drawings and bill of materials (BOMS) to ensure production jobs are accurately started and moved through to finished saleable product. Assemblers will ensure the job traveler binder is accurate before starting a task, and prior to moving the materials and documentation to the job closing step.

Assemblers will operate tools such as pneumatic grinders, cordless drills, chisels, files and various other hand tools to clean and assemble product.

Responsibilities

• Refers to job order and/or shop drawing.
• Accurately log into and out of jobs via ERP system on computer kiosk.
• Perform proper sign offs (part checks) as per Winsafe ISO procedures.
• Obtains required component parts to assemble product as specified.
• Assemble product as specified in shop drawings.
• Work independently or as part of team.
• Uses hand tools such as pneumatic grinders, die-grinder and tapping operations.
• Must be able to accurately measure and use measuring tools micrometer, vernier and tape measure.
• Follows all Winsafe safety procedures.
• Maintains an orderly work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma / relevant work experience.
• Ability to comprehend written instruction (drawings).
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Finite math skills / able to use a calculator (adding, subtracting, multiply, divide, etc.,)
• Read and work with measuring tools.
