Senior Security Designer

A prominent Canadian financial enterprise is seeking a Senior Security Designer to join its cybersecurity team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the architecture, evolution, and operationalization of core data protection structures. You will serve as a subject matter expert tasked with safeguarding critical assets, managing privileged access, and helping steer the organization toward next-generation cryptographic resilience.

Responsibilities
Design and refine enterprise solutions for secrets management, cryptographic keys, digital certificates, and privileged credentials.

Advise IT and engineering teams on integrating key management platforms (such as HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault) and PKI architectures.

Champion cryptography initiatives, including lifecycle management, crypto-agility, usage inventory, and post-quantum preparedness.

Enhance Privileged Access Management (PAM) capabilities by enforcing least-privilege access, segregation of duties, and auditability.

Create high-quality architectural blueprints, integration guides, and security standards for delivery teams.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

5+ years of dedicated experience in information security, including at least 2 years focused specifically on cryptography.

Hands-on experience configuring, implementing, or managing Cloud-based Hardware Security Modules (HSM).

In-depth understanding of industry security frameworks, notably NIST and ISO 27001.

Strong leadership skills, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties. Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.
