We are a family in Burlington looking for an experienced Nanny / Housekeeper / Family Assistant to become a trusted part of our household. We have two young boys, ages 4 and almost 2, and are looking for someone who genuinely loves children, enjoys cooking and meal preparation, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized home. Our ideal person is warm, calm, reliable, organized and proactive — someone who can move naturally between caring for the children, preparing meals and taking care of the home depending on what the day requires. Childcare We value gentle, respectful parenting. We are looking for someone who is affectionate and playful with our children while also being confident managing routines, transitions and big emotions. Responsibilities may include: Engaging the children in play, reading, crafts and age-appropriate activities Spending plenty of time outdoors — walks, parks, nature play and local outings School drop-off/pick-up and activities as needed Helping with dressing, meals and daily routines Caring for one or both children depending on their schedules Keeping children’s belongings and spaces organized Supporting the parenting approach and routines established Cooking & Meal Preparation Meal preparation is a regular part of this position. We are a health-conscious household and eat mostly whole-food, plant-based home-cooked meals. We would love someone who is comfortable in the kitchen and genuinely enjoys cooking. Responsibilities may include: Preparing healthy lunches, snacks and meals for the children Preparing or helping prepare family dinners Following family recipes and meal plans Washing and chopping fruits and vegetables Batch-prepping ingredients and meals for the week Preparing soups, salads, roasted vegetables, grains, tofu, beans, pasta dishes and other family meals Keeping the refrigerator and pantry organized Adhere to safe and sanitary cooking standards Cleaning the kitchen thoroughly after cooking You do not need to be a professional chef, but you should be confident following recipes, comfortable cooking from scratch and interested in healthy food. Housekeeping & Cleaning Household responsibilities include regular cleaning and upkeep of the home, including: Vacuuming and mopping floors Cleaning the kitchen, counters, sinks, appliances and cabinet surfaces as needed Cleaning bedrooms and common areas Changing and washing bedding Laundry, folding and putting clothing away General tidying Cleaning and organizing children’s play areas Taking out garbage/recycling as needed Periodic deeper-cleaning tasks and household organization We appreciate someone who notices when something needs attention and takes initiative rather than needing a detailed list of tasks each day. Family Assistant Responsibilities Depending on the week, there may also be occasional household tasks such as: Returns and simple errands Organizing children’s clothing and rotating outgrown items Keeping children’s school/activity supplies organized Helping prepare the household for trips, weekends away or busy weeks We also have a dog, so being comfortable around pets is important. A driver’s licence and vehicle is required.
