Job Summary

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator is responsible for supporting and advancing a culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role partners with leaders and employees to deliver EHS training, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, manage workers' compensation and return-to-work programs, and ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations. The EHS Coordinator leads audits, inspections, and ISO-related initiatives while maintaining accurate documentation, reporting, and program administration. Serving as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external agencies, this position plays a critical role in protecting employees, supporting operational excellence, and driving Lincoln Electric's commitment to a Higher Standard of Safety

Key Responsibilities

  • To report directly to the Senior Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety on an ongoing basis and communicate all relevant matters pertaining to EHS.
  • Foster a culture of continuous environmental health and safety improvement in alignment with the Lincoln Electric Higher Standard across the facilities by sharing best practices.
  • Conduct EHS Orientations for all newly hired employees.
  • Teaches, trains and advises new, existing and returning staff on policies and standard operating procedures for the environmental health and safety systems.
  • Establish and ensure the coordination and/or conduct all internal and external EHS training as required.
  • Evaluate and monitor environmental health and safety risk management and enforce environmental health and safety policies. Provide implementation support for environmental health and safety processes, practices and action plans.
  • Maintain documentation of the company’s environmental health and safety procedures, accidents and related events. Track, record, report and investigate all incidents that occur onsite and identify possible root causes.
  • Perform regulatory and best practice-driven hazard/risk assessments and develop action plans to drive improvement.
  • Assist with updating/creating company policies and procedures in accordance with regulated changes made within our sector.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of environmental health and safety corporate initiatives as required.
  • Maintain the administration of our environmental health and safety program into our corporate database Quest as it relates to the assigned facilities.
  • Schedule and participate in both workplace inspections and Joint Health and Safety Committees as assigned.
  • Lead and assist in any internal environmental health and safety audits and help obtain, maintain and update any EHS ISO 140001 and 45001 related systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections of first aid kits, AED’s and emergency eye wash stations and maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Coordinate and replenish EHS supplies as needed.
  • Process workers compensation documentation and file form 7’s on behalf of the company.
  • Conduct and oversee all early and safe return to work (ESRTW) protocols for employees on WSIB or other injuries or illnesses.
  • Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies, such as EMS, MOL, insurance personnel and LECO.
  • Abide by and actively support Lincoln Electric’s Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of natural resources and the Health & Safety of all employees
  • To participate co-operatively as an employee within the company’s GPMP and Merit Rating System.
  • To actively participate in company, staff or individual one-on-one meetings on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies within the department as well as other departments across the company.
  • To continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
  • To conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Senior Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety in a timely and professional manner.
  • To be available by phone (text/call) or email for emergency purposes outside regular working hours as described in the right to disconnect policy.

Basic Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Post-secondary degree/diploma is preferred with training in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Health/Science.
  • First Aid Certification required.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 certification or Lead Auditor training preferred.
  • Knowledge of EHS Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple project and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish professional relationships with employees.
