Skid Steer Operator

In this role, you will be responsible for the safe operation of a skid steer forklift in the shipping department. Your primary role would be loading hoppers with shredded material from bunkers inside the plant. You will be helping to ensure machines are running smoothly and organized for production employees.

Responsibilities
Equipment Operation & Site Work
Safely operate skid steer loaders (tracked or wheeled) to excavate, grade, level, and move earth, gravel, debris, or materials.

Utilize and switch out various attachments efficiently (e.g., buckets, augers, trenchers, grapple buckets, sweepers, pallet forks).

Load and unload materials from haul trucks, trailers, or stockpiles safely.

Execute precise grading, backfilling, and site clearing based on project blueprints or supervisor instructions.

Qualifications
Experience & Certifications
Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of verifiable experience operating skid steer loaders in a construction, landscaping, or site-development setting.

License: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus if transport of equipment is required).

Certifications: Heavy Equipment Operator certification or OSHA 10/30 card preferred.

Skills & Abilities
Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of skid steer capabilities, limitations, and attachment operations.

Grade Reading: Basic ability to read grade stakes, site plans, and cut/fill markings.

Mechanical Aptitude: Basic troubleshooting skills for minor machinery issues.

Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, sit for long periods, work in varying weather conditions, and maneuver safely around job sites.
