Our client is looking for Operation Technology Support to support maintaining secure and compliant operations across multiple generating stations by coordinating and implementing software and firmware security updates for OT systems.. -
1 year contract in Burnaby, hybrid
The successful candidate will work with operational, engineering, cybersecurity, and technology teams to plan, test, schedule, implement, and document software and firmware updates while ensuring system reliability and security. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple maintenance activities across geographically dispersed sites.
Requirmeenrts;:
- Experience supporting industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA systems, operational technology (OT), or critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience administering and patching Windows systems, Linux, network infrastructure systems
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities across multiple sites and stakeholder groups.
- Knowledge of software deployment, vulnerability management, and patch management best practices.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Advanced Excel skills including data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with regulated utility, energy, or critical infrastructure environments is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and regulatory frameworks such as NERC CIP is considered an asset
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate security patching, software upgrades, and maintenance activities across multiple generating stations and operational sites.
- Evaluate software releases, security advisories, firmware updates, and vendor recommendations to determine applicability and implementation requirements based on risk and compliance requirements.
- Develop patch deployment strategies and schedules that balance operational requirements, maintenance windows, and cybersecurity objectives.
- Perform patch validation, testing, and verification activities and document test results.
- Develop implementation plans, rollback procedures, and post-deployment validation processes.
- Support field teams during patch deployment, system maintenance, and upgrade activities.
- Work closely with IT, OT, cybersecurity, engineering, and vendor support teams to prepare and implement patching program
- Track maintenance activities, implementation status, risks, dependencies, and completion metrics.
- Maintain technical records, implementation evidence, maintenance schedules, and change documentation.
- Assist with system lifecycle management, technology refresh initiatives, vulnerability remediation efforts, and continuous improvement projects.
- Support audit and regulatory requirements by ensuring maintenance activities are properly documented and executed in accordance with established processes and standards.
- Create and maintain technical instructions, procedures, and operational documentation.
