Material Handler

Job Description

Our client is a sheet metal manufacturer in the HVAC Industry, and they are looking at hiring 2 Forklift Operator/Material handlers for their Oakville location.

  • Shift: Dayshift am to 7pm Monday to friday
  • Pay Rate:Location: Oakville, ON
  • Contract to Permanent: Yes, after 3 months probationary period.

Duties:

  • Operate Forklift Safely: Drive and operate forklifts (CB/RR, Reach Truck, Order Picker) safely and efficiently in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload materials and products from trucks, pallets, racks, and shelves using forklift equipment.
  • Material Handling: Transport materials within the warehouse or production facility to designated areas using forklifts.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in counting, recording, and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and verify goods against purchase orders or invoices to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety standards and protocols at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Maintenance Checks: Conduct routine maintenance checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues to supervisors.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.
  • Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate documentation and records related to forklift operations and inventory movement.
  • Adherence to Regulations: Follow all applicable regulations and guidelines regarding forklift operation and workplace safety.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Valid forklift license (CB/RR and Order Picker)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • Forklift License: Required; onsite orientation and training provided on the first day
  • Criminal Background Check: Required
