Our Story & Purpose:

We’re Vancity, a member-owned credit union built on the principles of inclusion and social justice. Since 1946, our relentless commitment to these values has helped us challenge the status quo and break down barriers. We’ve made bold commitments to become net-zero by 2040 across all mortgages and loans, and we’re actively pursuing strategies in Indigenous banking and financial resilience for our members.

As the largest private sector Living Wage Employer in Canada, we’re proud to be consistently recognized as one of the country’s Top Employers. If you’re ready to join our team of 2,300 diverse individuals, access competitive rewards and benefits, and be part of a greater movement - apply today!

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As a Compliance Analyst, Bank Operations, you will provide advice and guidance on regulatory requirements, operational policies, and compliance processes to help reduce organizational risk while supporting adherence to Vancity’s compliance framework. You will conduct regulatory and policy reviews, assess compliance risks, identify process improvements, and collaborate with business units to develop action plans that strengthen operational effectiveness. We are seeking a collaborative compliance professional with strong analytical skills, risk management expertise, and the ability to build trusted relationships across the organization.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Team Manager, Bank Operations Compliance. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Assessing business unit adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and operational procedures
  • Conducting compliance reviews, documenting findings, and identifying opportunities for process improvement
  • Performing gap analyses and recommending enhancements to policy controls and compliance practices
  • Utilizing compliance reporting to support the development and monitoring of business unit action plans
  • Providing compliance and policy expertise to managers and business partners while resolving escalated inquiries
  • Supporting organizational projects and initiatives by providing recommendations on operational policies and process enhancements
  • Participating in the testing, optimization, and implementation of new or enhanced systems and processes
  • Acting as a senior resource by providing peer mentorship, guidance, and training to support effective business solutions

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Commerce, Finance, Law, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, audit, banking operations, or a related financial services environment
  • Experience interpreting and applying regulatory requirements, policies, and operational procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct reviews, investigations, and gap analyses
  • Experience developing recommendations and action plans to address compliance risks and operational issues
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and provide trusted advice to business stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks, risk management practices, and internal control environments

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Experience within the financial services, credit union, or banking industry
  • Professional certification such as CRCM, CAMS, CIA, CRMP, or a related designation
  • Experience supporting compliance-related projects, system implementations, or process transformation initiatives

You Are:

  • Analytical – You can assess information, identify risks, and make thoughtful recommendations that support business objectives
  • Detail-Oriented – You maintain a high level of accuracy when reviewing regulations, policies, and operational processes
  • Collaborative – You build strong partnerships and work effectively across teams to achieve compliance outcomes
  • Trusted Advisor – You provide sound guidance and practical solutions that help stakeholders navigate risk and regulatory requirements
  • Continuous Improvement Focused – You proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and operational effectiveness

We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.

What You’ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $76,500 to $99,000 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
