Job Description
Vortex Strategy & Recruitment is actively seeking a manager internal translation for its client, a highly regarded international law firm located in downtown Montreal.
The Manager internal translation is responsible for delivering high-quality translation services in support of the firm's operations, executive communications, and marketing initiatives. As a trusted advisor to the Business Services teams and senior leadership, the successful candidate will manage translation requests from a variety of stakeholders, ensure the timely delivery of multilingual content, and uphold the highest standards of linguistic quality.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Linguistic Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for translating, revising, and post-editing a broad range of documents intended for internal use, while working closely with the Marketing Department on campaigns, branding initiatives, and communication strategies. This role also includes supervising a small team of proofreaders, managing project timelines and priorities, and coordinating external language service providers when additional resources or specialized expertise are required.
Your Role and Responsibilities
• Manage translation requests from various business services departments and senior leadership.
• Translate content into French, revise French-language material, and perform post-editing.
• Ability to work on English-language documents is considered an asset.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Department to support multilingual campaigns and communication initiatives.
• Lead a small team of proofreaders to ensure quality and productivity.
• Coordinate workflow, resources, and timelines to meet service expectations.
• Act as the primary liaison between internal clients, senior leadership, and external language service providers.
• Ensure compliance with the firm's style guidelines and brand standards.
• Maintain linguistic quality standards, ensure terminological consistency, and apply quality assurance best practices.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in translation, revision, and stakeholder management.
• Experience managing or leading a team of language professionals.
• Strong client service orientation with the ability to interact effectively with members of senior leadership.
• Experience managing projects, competing priorities, and external vendors.
• Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure.
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of requests and shifting priorities.
• Experience producing high-impact internal and external communications.
• Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when required.
• Knowledge of Logiterm and Flowfit products is considered an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
• Experience working in a professional services firm is preferred.
