Job description

Structural Ironworkers & Dual-Ticketed Welders

Job Site: West Edmonton, AB
Compensation Details:
- Journeyperson Rate: $40.00 to $49.00 per hour
- Apprentice Rate: $32.00 to $36.00 per hour
Work Schedule: Regular shifts run Monday through Friday, consisting of 10-hour days to maximize your earnings.
Weekend work may be required occasionally to meet critical project milestones.
Overtime Policy: Time-and-a-half is compensated after 44 hours worked in a single week.
Target Start Date: August 10, 2026.
This specific phase concludes in mid-November, but successful team members will have a strong opportunity to transition to our upcoming regional projects.

About the Opportunity
We have immediate openings for six dedicated Ironworkers—ranging from 1st-year Apprentices to seasoned Journeypersons. You will be stepping into phase two of a prominent, large-scale institutional construction project located in the western sector of the city.

Whether you are a veteran of the trade eager to lead by example, or a developing apprentice hungry to refine your structural assembly techniques on an active, multi-story open build, this is your chance. Expect reliable daily hours, excellent overtime earning potential, and a clear pathway to continuous employment on our robust pipeline of future commercial and institutional builds.

Advantages
Lucrative Compensation & Overtime Guarantee: Because our baseline schedule demands a 50-hour workweek, you will automatically accrue a minimum of six hours of overtime pay weekly. Welders possessing dual tickets will also be highly considered for premium wage brackets.

Excellent Work-Life Balance: Forget about isolating remote camps. Work locally in West Edmonton and go home to your own bed every single night. Enjoy a highly predictable weekday schedule with the vast majority of your weekends left completely free.

Streamlined Hiring Process: This specific location does not mandate drug and alcohol testing or background checks, allowing us to expedite onboarding. Submit your resume mid-week, complete an interview within 1 week, and hit the ground running.

Long-Term Security & Skill Development: Add a massive seven-story institutional development to your professional portfolio. Once we complete this stage in November, top performers will be seamlessly rolled over to our next major developments.

Mentorship for Apprentices: We are passionate about fostering the next generation of tradespeople. Apprentices in their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year will be paired with seasoned veterans to safely accumulate their required hours and master complex techniques.

Responsibilities
Expertly position, align, and secure massive structural steel frameworks in tight coordination with on-site tower crane operators.

Execute critical tasks including complex rigging, structural connecting, bolting sequences, and precision structural welding.

Navigate and operate heavy elevated work platforms, such as articulated boom lifts and scissor lifts, while strictly adhering to all fall-arrest protocols.

Collaborate seamlessly with various other construction sub-trades across a sprawling, seven-story open-air structure.

Demonstrate the physical stamina to consistently lift, maneuver, and transport heavy construction materials ranging between 40 and 100 pounds safely.

Qualifications
Trade Credentials: Candidates must possess a valid Journeyperson Ironworker Red Seal certification, or alternatively, be officially registered as a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd-year Apprentice in the trade.

Preferred Assets: Applicants holding dual certifications (Ironworker and Welder) or an active CWB Structural Welding credential will be placed at the top of our consideration list.

Field Experience: A proven track record involving working at heights, complex rigging, and structural connecting is essential. Prior exposure to heavy commercial or industrial environments is highly advantageous.

Safety Acumen: Demonstrated mastery of Fall Arrest and Fall Protection regulations, coupled with certified experience operating aerial work platforms safely.

Clearance Requirements: Please note that pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening and Criminal Record Checks are not required for this specific project site.

Summary
How to Apply:
Please forward your updated resume and legible digital copies (scans or high-quality photos) of your certifications directly to renee.paul@randstad.ca. Please ensure your application package includes:
- Provincial or Red Seal Trade Certificates
- Valid CWB Welding Tickets
- CSTS (Construction Safety Training System)
- Fall Protection / Fall Arrest Certification
- Elevated / Aerial Work Platform (EWP/AWP) Tickets
- Any additional industry-recognized safety credentials

Please note: While we appreciate every application submitted, our recruitment team will only reach out directly to individuals whose backgrounds closely match our required qualifications.
