Job description

As Product Manager, Business Systems, you will own the product roadmap for the platforms and integrations that power Marqeta's critical business functions. You will be the connective tissue between business stakeholders and the Business Systems engineering teams translating operational needs into a clear, prioritized backlog and ensuring delivery is aligned with business outcomes.

Your domain spans Salesforce workflows for Legal, Risk & Compliance (including cardholder support, disputes, KYC/KYB, and sanctions), contract lifecycle management in Ironclad, financial operations in Intacct, and the integrations that connect these systems to each other and to the broader Marqeta technology ecosystem. You will work closely with the GTM Product Manager on shared Salesforce workstreams and cross-functional dependencies, ensuring LRC and Finance needs are represented in platform decisions that span both domains.

You will report to the Senior Manager, BT Product Management, and partner daily with engineering managers, business systems architects, and stakeholders across Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Service Operations.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely anywhere within Ontario or British Columbia, Canada. We’d love for you to join us!

This position is both for an existing and non-existing vacancy.

The Impact You’ll Have

Roadmap & Prioritization

  • Own and maintain the product strategy and roadmap for critical business systems, balancing strategic initiatives with operational improvements and technical debt.

  • Prioritize the backlog in partnership with business and engineering stakeholders, making clear tradeoff decisions and communicating rationale across teams

  • Design and lead the Plan and Commit process with business stakeholders.

  • Identify and define new product opportunities by proactively engaging with key business stakeholders across the organization.

  • Translate multi-year business goals into phased, deliverable roadmap initiatives with clear success metrics

Requirements & Delivery

  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with key business stakeholders, producing well-scoped epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Partner with the Business Systems engineering team through the full delivery lifecycle from discovery and design through testing, release, and adoption

  • Manage dependencies and sequencing across cross-functional workstreams, flagging risks early and keeping stakeholders informed

  • Establish and manage hypercare programs for major system go-lives

  • Develop and contribute to Business Systems Product Management competencies across the BT organization.

Stakeholder Alignment & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary product point of contact for key business stakeholders.

  • Partner closely with the GTM Product Manager on shared Salesforce platform decisions, overlapping workflows, and cross-functional initiatives

  • Facilitate alignment across stakeholders with competing priorities, driving toward clear decisions and documented outcomes

  • Represent business product needs in Business Systems planning forums, architecture reviews, and steering committee discussions.

  • Communicate roadmap status, delivery updates, and tradeoff decisions clearly to stakeholders at all levels including Directors and VPs

Change Management and Success Metrics (KPIs)

  • Define and track success metrics for delivered features, ensuring solutions are meeting the business needs they were designed for

  • Report progress and outcomes to the leadership on a regular cadence.

  • Partner with business and engineering stakeholders on feature rollout, change management and adoption of delivered features.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in business systems, enterprise platforms, or internal tooling

  • Experience working with Legal, Risk, Compliance, or Finance teams as primary stakeholders understanding their workflows, priorities, and regulatory context

  • Familiarity with Salesforce as a business platform; experience with Service Cloud, compliance workflows, or case management is a plus

  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management tools (Ironclad or similar) and ERP systems (Intacct or similar)

  • Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills, able to turn ambiguous business needs into clear, actionable engineering work

  • Demonstrated ability to own and prioritize a roadmap across multiple stakeholder groups with competing needs and drive execution from concept to delivery.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to build trust with business partners, navigate competing priorities, and drive alignment

  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional, fast-moving environment with shared platforms and overlapping workstreams

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present tradeoffs and roadmap decisions clearly to senior stakeholders

  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-phase projects in Agile environments.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in fintech, payments, or regulated B2B SaaS environments

  • Familiarity with KYC/KYB, sanctions screening, or financial compliance workflows

  • Experience with Workato or other iPaaS platforms in a business systems context

  • Familiarity with Snowflake or similar data platforms and how business systems feed downstream reporting

  • Experience working on platforms shared across multiple business domains (e.g., a CRM used by both GTM and compliance teams)
