Behind the scenes, but ahead of the curve: help us develop the next-generation public service media organization.

Technology & Infrastructure (T&I) is the backbone and the future-forward arm of CBC/Radio-Canada. Our purpose is to constantly innovate to evolve and maintain the Corporation’s technology and infrastructure. We are the people that make stuff work. We make connections between media content, systems, people and places. We are the space in between.

A place with purpose. CBC/Radio-Canada has always been a highly regarded pioneer of media technology — not just in Canada but around the world. Today, we are transforming ourselves into a modern and agile public service media organization. Technology is the driving force, and we are the team making it happen.

This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Your Role

The Technology & Infrastructure (T&I) AI Lab at CBC/Radio-Canada operates as an agile, high-performance innovation hub. Our mission is to prototype, experiment with and deploy artificial intelligence solutions for media production systems across the organization. We design customized functionalities and seamlessly integrate advanced AI technologies into our existing product ecosystem.

We are looking for an AI Analyst who is pragmatic, curious, ambitious and ready to kick-start their career in applied AI. Backed by senior experts, you will work in a highly experimental environment where your initiatives will have real, immediate impact.

Our team is supported on a day-to-day basis by next-generation coding assistants like Cursor and Claude to optimize ideation, development, debugging and documentation. By joining our team, you will learn to leverage those tools while ensuring the highest standards of reliability, security and code integrity for your deliverables.

Your Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in the full life cycle (prototyping, development, deployment) of AI-driven applications and features, with a specific focus on cloud architectures.
  • Help fine-tune, evaluate and integrate large language models (LLMs) into our core business processes.
  • Set up and maintain testing, monitoring, feedback and performance assessment protocols for our AI systems.
  • Assist the team in connecting intelligent agents to internal or external services and APIs (using the MCP protocol or equivalent tool frameworks).
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, architecture, data science) to embed AI capabilities into our digital platforms.
  • Conduct exploratory proofs of concept to bridge AI with our legacy systems and build viable new products.
  • Leverage AI co-pilots to accelerate your development workflow while maintaining strict standards for test coverage, code quality and IT security.

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree in software engineering, computer science, data science or a related field.
  • One to two years’ hands-on technical experience in software design (gained through internships, academic projects, personal initiatives or early professional work).
  • Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript or Java, together with an outstanding capacity for continuous learning.
  • A solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including quality control, debugging, testing methodologies and information security.
  • Functional bilingualism (English and French) essential for Canada-wide communications.

Preferred Qualifications (Assets)

  • Professional or personal projects involving machine learning, LLMs, RAG architectures or autonomous agent development.
  • Keen interest in the media industry, audiovisual production, entertainment or creative technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud ecosystems and modern AI libraries or frameworks (PyTorch, CrewAI, LangGraph, etc.).
  • Demonstrated practical experience with AI-assisted coding tools like Claude and Cursor.
  • Active involvement in the open-source community or a portfolio of exploratory AI projects.

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the next step will be asked to complete a background check. This includes:

  • A mandatory Criminal record check.
  • Other background checks may be conducted based on the operational requirements of the position.

CBC/Radio-Canada is committed to being a leader in reflecting our country’s diversity. That’s because we can only create and tell the stories that connect Canadians, by having a workforce that mirrors the ever-changing makeup of our country. That’s why we, as an employer, value equal opportunity and nurture an inclusive workplace where our individual differences are not only recognized and valued, but also extend to and pervade all the services we provide as Canada’s public broadcaster.
