Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
The Part-Time Academic will teach in-person lectures for AGRI 4000 Issues in Agriculture, Rural Society and Environment in the Fall Semester (September to December) 2026. The lectures are currently scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:05am to 11:25am. The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the lectures, including test preparation, evaluation and teaching platform administration (currently Brightspace), as well as routine office hours. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.
This course allows senior students in all disciplines to discuss current topics of interest to agricultural professionals. These topics could include soil degradation, integrated pest management, antibiotics in feed, the occupation of farming, animal welfare, etc. Students will be given weekly required readings.

All offers of employment as a Part-Time Academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the course and approval by the University.
