Branch Manager – Interim

Location: Saint-Hyacinthe, QC

Position Summary: Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the incumbent contributes to the company’s overall profitability by maintaining a high level of effectiveness and efficiency in managing branch and fleet resources at headquarters and in all relevant satellite branches.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure branch compliance with security and safety audit requirements and provide a safe work environment by adhering to Airgas/Red-D-Arc health and safety guidelines.
• Provide exemplary customer service at the branch.
• Maintain high-quality standards for all rental equipment.
• Organize and control parts/accessories and equipment inventory.
• Promote sales of used equipment.
• Conduct inventory audits at the main branch.
• Recruit, onboard, and train branch staff.
• Supervise all fleet transfers into and out of the branch.
• Approve all purchase orders and invoices for the branch to minimize expenses.
• Ensure timely collection of receivables, including proper cash flow management.
• Conduct the annual performance evaluation process thoroughly and within specified timeframes.
• Document and address performance shortcomings identified in employees.
• Monitor exception reports to identify and resolve issues.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process.
• Comply with all SOX and government regulatory requirements.
• Implement and communicate new policies and operational guidelines.
• Lead daily production meetings with the branch and weekly sales operations meetings with the branch and outside sales team.

• Experience: More than five years of professional experience in a relevant field, including positioning equipment, welding techniques, and related equipment.
• Training in equipment repair and maintenance (asset).
• Permit/Certification: Valid driver’s license.
• Essential Skills: Adaptability, critical decision‑making, interpersonal communication, problem‑solving, project management, and business acumen—all while maintaining a strong customer‑service orientation and proactive communication with superiors and teams.
