SKYTRAC is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Software Developer to join our team! As a senior member of our skilled development team, you will play a key role in designing and developing front‑end and back‑end web‑based software solutions that create real‑world impact within the aviation industry. You will be involved throughout the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, system design, development, delivery, and ongoing support of SKYTRAC’s products. We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology, thrives on solving complex challenges, and takes ownership from concept through implementation. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both internal teams and external stakeholders. You are proactive, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning, staying current with industry trends and applying innovative ideas to drive meaningful solutions.

This position is based on‑site in our Ottawa, ON office.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in software architecture, development, integration, and testing of our client‑facing SKYTRAC software offerings
  • Contribute to planning, propose concepts, products, solutions, architectural design, estimate different approaches for our Enterprise software solutions
  • Develop software requirements and specifications based on stakeholder input/feedback
  • Review code authored by other members of the team, provide constructive feedback
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of software design best practices and methodologies for the entire SKYTRAC software department

What You Bring (Required)

  • A post‑secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Programming, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience within full stack development producing high‑quality highly available web applications
  • Experience designing and developing microservices using CI/CD processes, Git, and automated testing products and processes
  • Strong skills in AWS, EKS, RDS, Kafka, RabbitMQ and configuring large‑scale microservices
  • Experience with front‑end frameworks/back‑end technologies and creation of fluid, performant, robust end‑to‑end solutions
  • Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL, relational, etc.), web storage, file or data transfer, AWS
  • Experience with Git/GitLab

Preferred

  • Experience deprecating legacy systems and migrating, porting, or reimplementing functionality from acquired products into next‑generation systems
  • Someone with demonstrable participation in the Open‑Source community
  • Knowledge of satellite networks (e.g. Iridium) and other mobile communication products (cellular modems and communications)
  • Knowledge of C#, .NET, PHP

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 CAD. The range posted is a guide and may not represent the compensation offered to the successful candidate. Compensation is based on the skills, knowledge, experience, and qualifications brought to the role.
